Picking up daddy!!!

Dylan started counting the days until he  was going to see his daddy as soon as we found out he would be able to come. He has missed his daddy so much while he's been here. He was so excited to get to number 1 that Saturday he woke up VERY, VERY early. By the time it was time to go he was starting to get a little sleepy. He had to take a little snooze on the way to the airport.

HE WAS OUT! LOL

It didn't take much prodding, he was ready to get into the airport and get his daddy!

He started looking for him right away.
He looked this way...
 and that way...
 over there....
 and over here...
peeked around the many people blocking his view...
the flight was a little late so we took him outside for a few minutes to try and distract him a bit.
when  we headed back inside to watch and wait some more he was all smiles!
 then...we waited ... waited.....waited...until.....
HE FOUND HIS DADDY!! As soon as he saw him, he took off running to him. We all got distracted and missed that special picture taking moment.
 "HEY GRAMMA...look it's my daddy"
 PRICELESS
waiting again....but it was okay this time because it was just for suitcases
 "Daddy.....I'll help you"
and
He did.....
 Dylan & daddy
it doesn't get much better in this little boys life.
He sure does LOVE his daddy!

WELCOME TO UTAH NICK!

Today is a very special day in my heart and I always find myself wandering around enjoying special memories of loved ones that are no longer with me yet still fill me with so much love and tenderness. I like to celebrate their lives on this day each year.
Golden J. Eyre  and Jean Eldridge Eyre
my parents, my protectors, my hero's!!
Miss them both EVERY day!!

My sister...taken from us way too soon. She would be so proud of all her beautiful children.
I miss her so very much!!
My father in law that I never got the pleasure to meet.
Oh how I wish I could have known this great man!

Thinking of all of you on this wonderful day and holding my memories close to my heart!

What is Memorial Day to you?

A day off work? The beginning of summer? Parades and B~B~Q's? The opening of the public swimming pools? Have you ever thought about it? Does it mean anything special to you?

If public opinion surveys are accurate, most Americans don't really know much about Memorial Day's meaning. That is sad to me because it is our great nations way of honoring those brave men and women who have given their lives to protect each and every one of us.

Did you know that more than a million American men and women have given, as Lincoln described it at Gettysburg, " the last full measure of devotion. Their valor and sacrifice made possible our freedoms, our values, our very existence." Where do you think we would be today if they weren't willing to make this sacrifice? The thought is very scary to me.

Memorial Day should be a time of solemn reflection on some of the most sacred human ideals: Faith, Family, Duty, Commitment, Heroism and Honor. The debt we owe those soldiers, marines, sailors and airmen who have given their lives defending us is a debt we could NEVER even begin to repay.

On this very special holiday I hope you will all take a moment between all your activities with family and friends to reflect on their sacrifices and truly be grateful to them for their service.

I want to give special thanks to all of the GREAT men and women who are so willing to fight for us so that we can continue to enjoy all the freedom we take for granted in our daily lives!

~GOD BLESS YOU AND KEEP YOU~

Weekends never seem to last long enough...

Friday me, two of my daughters and my two grandsons found ourselves at a beautiful Park City Resort. My wonderful sister had an extra suite available and invited us up. WOW!!!! is all I can say about this 1 bedroom suite. It was as big as many apartments. What a great day spent relaxing and visiting with Shelly and Cheryl. Thanks so very much for inviting us.

This is just a small glimpse of the beautiful accommodations. The bathtub was HUGE and Jace and Dylan had a great time swimming in it.
The view
the boys....They had so much fun and are still asking when we can go back to the mountains...I'm ready!!

Saturday me and my Hubby did what we LOVE to do and hit the yard sales. We found some great treasures and the bonus of the day was that one of the yard sales was across from the house I grew up in. I had met the woman who lived there about a year ago, she works in my dentists office. She saw me and came over to say hi. She invited me in to see the changes they had made to my childhood home. It was a bitter sweet feeling that I got as she took me through the house. There was really nothing familiar about it. They have made some pretty dramatic changes. It is beautiful and spacious but VERY...VERY different.
Carson has been very sick so we went and got Jace to stay the night with us. We watched Gulliver's Travels which Jace really seemed to enjoy. He must have dreamed about his mommy because he woke me up in the middle of the night and said "Gramma...do you think my mommy feels better now? I think she might need me" I told him not to worry and we would call the next morning. He was OK with that and went right back to sleep. Such a sweet little boy. He always watches out for his mommy.

Sunday we headed to Ogden. We had a bit of shopping to do then enjoyed a yummy lunch. When we got home we had a GREAT nap then Aubrey, Dylan and I headed into the craft room and pulled out the paint. Dylan LOVES painting and is making something special for his daddy who is coming Saturday for two weeks. Aubrey and Dylan have been missing him like crazy and are sooooooo excited for him to get here! I am so glad he could come and be here for Aubrey's surgery.

Please join me in sending Love & Light

I was checking my facebook this morning and saw a post my nephew made about his wife that made me realize once again how precious life is and why we should live each and every day to its fullest. Life tends knock us to our knees at times but I think it's Gods way to make us stop, take a breath, reevaluate our priorities and look to him.
He is there to help us get back up, I have no doubt about this.

I am asking you to send love and light and lots of prayers to my niece.
Friday she was diagnosed with Primary biliary cirrhosis, which is a disease in which the bile ducts in your liver are slowly destroyed. Bile, a fluid produced in your liver, is essential for the proper digestion of fats. It also helps rid your body of worn-out red blood cells, cholesterol and toxins. In primary biliary cirrhosis, the destruction of your bile ducts can cause harmful substances to build up in your liver and leads to irreversible scarring of liver tissue.

She is going to have a biopsy to confirm how far it has progressed on the 25th and then will meet with the doctor in July to discuss the results and a treatment plan. She will also be placed on the transplant waiting list.

I am sending all my Love, Light and Prayers your way my sweet niece.

I LOVE YOU!!

Just a little update on Aubrey

Well, Aubrey's sinus surgery is scheduled for June 6th. She is a little nervous but is excited to be able to breath again. Her sinus cavities are totally blocked with polyps and cysts. The doctor said this surgery is usually about 30 minutes but because hers is so severe he's estimating 2-3 hours.

The Neurologist says her brain is still swollen, she had to go in for another spinal tap to drain more fluid. The pressure was higher than when she had her first one done. He has diagnosed her with Pseudo tumor Cerebri which occurs when the pressure inside your skull (intracranial pressure) increases for no obvious reason. Symptoms mimic those of a brain tumor, but no tumor is present. The increased intracranial pressure associated with pseudo tumor cerebri can cause swelling of the optic nerve and result in vision loss. Medications often can reduce this pressure, but in some cases, surgery is necessary.

Nick is trying to get things squared away at home so he can come out here for the surgery. I really hope he's able to, Aubrey's face just lit up at the thought of him being able to be here with her through this even if it will only be for a short time.

Big Smiles!!

I got the best Mothers Day gift EVER!!
Saturday morning me and Hubbs took off to check out the local yard sales. I have been dying for nice weather so we could get out and find a few treasures! We found quite a few deals one of my favorites was a nice country hutch for my kitchen!! we got it for a steal and it works perfect in my kitchen. I told my hubby it could be my Mothers Day gift, he said OK but, I found out later that he had a different idea....I truly got spoiled this year.
I have been wanting a puppy for quite a long time. Saturday, after we were done with the yard sales, my hubby said he was going to take my daughter and grandson to Ogden because Aubrey needed something. I took advantage of some alone time and got my house all clean and the new hutch all decorated. Once I got done, I went out to the patio to enjoy a break and a little sunshine. There they were sitting in the driveway, already back from shopping?  Those little tricksters!!!
They surprised me with the cutest little puppy!!! She is 10 months old and so stinkin' sweet...and...she is house trained already!! BONUS!!!
I got this picture with my phone, it's not very good and she sure looks a lot bigger than she is....She is a Chihuahua and Rat Terrier mix....she looks like a tiny rat terrier...I LOVE HER TO PIECES!!

I'd like you to meet Tia, our new addition. She is so good with the kids and my cat Chopper even likes her!!

Have you ever wondered....

How come you never get over missing your Mom?
How come years later you still can't wait to tell her something before you remember how long she has been gone?
How come every time you see something beautiful you think "Oh my Mom would love this."
And every time there is a hurt so big your heart can't hold it she is the first one you need.
Every joy that comes could only be better if you could share it with her.
And every tragedy makes you want her there to help you through it.
How come no matter how much you miss your Mom, just thinking about her somehow still comforts and helps get you through?

My mom passed away over 23 years ago. I still think of her every day. I miss her gentle loving nature that was always so welcoming and warm ~*~ her quick whit that could always make me smile ~*~ She was an incredible woman

Happy Mothers Day to the very best mom EVER!!
