Gift Ideas

Homemade Gifts in my opinion are the very best kinds.

A couple of years ago we were going through a rough time and I got pretty depressed thinking about the upcoming holidays. I really didn't have the money to buy gifts like I had in the past and the thought of any of the people that are so dear to me going without a gift from me made me cry. That is when I changed the way I look at gift giving.

I made everyone a special gift from the heart.

I spent VERY little money but poured all my love into each and every gift.

Since that time I have given homemade gifts from my heart for nearly EVERY gift I have needed.

I thought I would put some pictures of past gifts I have given to maybe give you some ideas if you're interested in that kind of thing.

My newest thing has been Snuggle Sac's and matching hats.

I have gifted several of these to friends and family for their newest arrivals and so far everyone has LOVED them.

Then I saw a WONDERFUL idea of crocheting a mat out of rope. I had to try it....LOVE IT!!

Coffee cup cozy...I have made several of these and they do come in handy to keep that coffee or hot chocolate nice and warm on these cool mornings.

I am a HUGE fan of signs and wood blocks...I don't know why but i love them!!

here are some that I made for a few people that I hold close in my heart.

These are cookie sheet calenders and Note boards. They are so fun to make and make a great gift!!

These cute little piggy banks are made out of 2 liter plastic bottles. I made these for my grandsons and they were a big hit!

Gift baskets have always been a favorite of mine. There is just no limit on what you can put into this gift.

My sister in law has always been very special to me. She was my best friend and when I married her brother became my sister. For her birthday a couple of years ago I wanted to give her an extra special gift. It took some time to come up with this idea and as I took a stroll down memory lane trying to come up with something that would be a one of a kind VERY special gift to show how much she meant to me....It hit me ....I had what I thought would be the PERFECT gift idea.

A Memory Box

but.....

not your normal memory box....this had to be different

My hubbs and I made a trip to the craft store and found just the right box, paint and embellishments.

I got home and couldn't wait to get started on it. I spent hours trying to make sure it was just how I had pictured it in my mind.

Then I sent out a mass email to all the family members I could to see if they could send me a small memory or story they had of my sister in law.

As the stories and memories came in I printed them out onto tea stained paper. I tore the edges to make them have that antique look and rolled each special memory into a scroll and tied it with a ribbon. I filled the box with all of these special memories sealed the box with all my love and anxiously waited to hand deliver my gift. The joy I got looking at her face as she read through each very special memory cannot be put into words. I think of all my homemade gifts this has got to be my absolute favorite of all time.
