What a nice visit

I hated watching Aubrey, Dylan and Nick having to say good-bye. There were a lot of tears Monday afternoon as we put Nick on a plane to go back to Florida. Aubrey and Dylan flew out here for a visit in February and because of Aubrey's medical issues the one month visit has turned into what we are expecting to be a total of six months instead. We were all so excited to have Nick come for 2 weeks so he could be here for Aubrey's surgery. We really enjoyed having him here and will continue to pray that they will all be able to move here permanently soon. Her are some pictures from his last day here

Sunday we headed over to Roosevelt to spend some time with family then on the way home we took a little detour through Park City. Nick really liked what he saw there.

This is one of the many resorts.
 Down town views

I think Dylan knew his daddy was going home very soon. He was his shadow all day.

And here we are seeing him off at the airport

Carson, Shane and Jace... Doing the Dork walk LOL

Aubrey preparing herself to say good-bye
not a very happy moment
The farewell crew putting on their sad faces
Poor Nick didn't want to leave his family behind

It was a fun 2 weeks...We all hated it to end....Until next time Nicholas...Hope to see you soon!

One more trip to the mountains

We had to take Nick up to Utah's beautiful mountains one more time before he has to go home on Monday. It was very relaxing as it always is and we were joined by some great friends which always makes it better.

My~My~My

I called my hubs today while he was at work and much to my surprise he didn't answer...instead he sent me a text and told me that his boss had taken him to the E.R. ... then I found out he was taken hours before I called. I was beside myself knowing that he was there alone and I hadn't got a call. He had chest pains that bothered him enough to go to the hospital but didn't want to call and worry me.....SHEESH! I know him, and he won't go to the hospital unless he really thinks something is wrong. (Usually I have to force him to go) After a heart attack when he was 43 that resulted in a stint and then a massive heart attack and emergency 5 way bypass at 48 ....he didn't want to worry me????? WTH? He works 1 1/2 hours away from home so he didn't want me to rush down there...I wanted to smack him right upside the head. Luckily my sister was attending a conference just 10 minutes from the hospital and rushed right over to be with him. Thanks Kari!! I sure do love your guts!

After spending about 6 or 7 hours there and 2 batteries of tests they said they didn't feel it was a heart attack and that it was brought on by stress. Hmmmm given his history I'm not totally convinced that there isn't something more to it than stress. I'm going to make him go to our doctor to make sure.

Love family fun in the mountains

Sunday we thought it would be great to take Nick up to one of our favorite spots in the mountains. We made up some hobo dinners and headed up. I love spending time up there. It's so relaxing and beautiful. What a wonderful time spent with people I love doing one of my favorite things in the world. I'm so glad we were able to do this.

Much needed family time...

We went to a family reunion yesterday and I hadn't realized just how much I've missed my brothers and sisters. I come from a family of 9 kids and since my parents passed away, it seems like our gatherings have become very few and far between. There were seven out of nine of us together yesterday and I LOVED every minute of it.

When all is said and done, everything starts and ends with family. I hope you all treasure your family and hold them close to your heart, enjoy the memories you have and spend as much time as you can making new ones.

What a sad but good day

Yesterday was my day off and it was beautiful weather! Everything started off great, we sat out on the patio and let my sweet grandsons play.

We live next to a big farm and about a month ago Aubrey had discovered brand new kittens in one of the horse trailers parked right next to our house. She checked on them regularly and wanted so badly to keep them all. I have to say that they were pretty stinkin cute. Yesterday she thought she would show Jace and Dylan how big they were getting. She heading over....she was back really fast and was a little pale. She said something had happened to the kittens. she could only see 2 of the 5 and they had been torn apart by something...SO SAD! Then Kelly wanted to go see if she could find the other 3. When she came back, she said that they saw the others and all were dead but...there was one that was still alive. Kelly couldn't reach it and didn't know if it was hurt so Nick went over with her and they came back with the tiny baby. he was dirty and scared but seemed to be OK. They took him into the house and wiped him up with a few baby wipes. Aubrey went and got some formula and once he got a little nourishment and LOTS of love he started showing a bit of his spunky personality. We have named him Lucky...They think we should keep him forever...LOL I'm not planning to but.... you never know

Here's a little peek at this sweet baby!

Somewhere.....over the rainbow...

This past weekend was full of cold, wind and, rain....but in the end Memorial Day was a wonderful day. I made a big breakfast then we headed out to the cemetery to place flowers on my mom and dads grave. I always struggle at the grave, I miss them so much. I have never felt the need to go there in order to feel close to them. I always feel close to them but, it is nice to be able to have a place to go to honor their memory. It was raining but that didn't stop us.

Later that day the rain finally stopped and this was the view out my back door
BEAUTIFUL!!
