This & That

I have started making these cute little snuggle sacs and hat sets.
I kind of suck at taking pictures and have already gifted 3 sets without taking any pictures. I made my nephew TJ and his sweet wife Alisa a purple and cream set for their sweet Ellie that should be arriving any day now, can't wait to see her. I also made my niece Kristen matching sets for her darling twins. One was pink and brown and the other was blue and brown.  Clay and Chloe arrived July 19th I got to go see them in the NICU Friday...OH MY.. they are just so precious! They are doing remarkably well. No more respirators, no more oxygen, only the feeding tube and heart monitors left. They just need to start eating as much as they need so they can go home. Sending Love and Light their way!

My daughter Kelly has a long time friend that was like another daughter to me. Kalli is expecting a sweet baby girl in November. I made this set for her....
SURPRISE!!! I actually got a picture of this one!!

I think it turned out pretty cute. Hope she likes it.

The hubby had to do the yard sale thing alone yesterday because I had to work. Being the thoughtful man he is, He kept his eye out for things he thought I might like. He found quite a few treasures.
He found this sign for me and snatched it up.

I LOVE IT!!!!!

Thanks for thinking of me honey bunch

Well we are off to the swap meet...Have a beautiful day!!

Becoming a domestic goddess

I have been keeping myself busy building up somewhat of a pantry storage.
One baby step at a time.

I was given a boat load of raspberries by a nice guy at work.
I knew we would NEVER be able to eat them all, although we did nibble on quite a few of them. They were absolutely YUMMO!!!!
I got busy Saturday morning (after going to the local yard sales of course).
I have never made jam before but raspberry jam has always been a favorite in our house. I decided it was time I taught myself the art of jam making.

I must say, it was a HUGE success for me. It turned out to be soooooo good!! My kids all LOVED it and proceeded to gobble down almost an entire jar.

I also made some pickled beets a couple of weeks ago. I tried a different recipe than I have used in the past. I thought it would be better because it included a little cinnamon and cloves in the recipe. They are pretty tasty, but I think I will stick to my other recipe. I liked them better.
I'm planning to make mustard pickles this weekend using my grandmas recipe. Oh my gosh I can't wait to dive into a bottle of those. They are one of my favorites not to mention the memories they bring back of visiting my grandma. I remember them always being on the table when visiting her as a young girl.
I also hope to make salsa and my grandmas sweet chili sauce in the coming weeks.

Anyone have any great canning recipes they want to share?

Babies...Oh my!

I just LOVE babies!!
I have 2 nieces that are  going to have their babies any day!! I am so excited to see the sweet squishy faces of their little ones.

Now of course I HAD to make something for them. I have been a crocheting fool! I made each a special gift from the heart... I crocheted each one a snuggle sac with matching booties and hat. I thought they turned out pretty cute...but..being the absent minded person that I am, I didn't take a single picture of them...SHEESH! I guess I will have to wait and take one with these sweet little ones in them.

Kristen is having twins...a boy and a girl. She has decorated her nursery so dang cute. She isn't firm on names yet but has a few in mind. She's dilated to a 4 and is resting to try and keep those precious darlings from coming too soon. I guess she better get busy deciding on those names!! I am so happy for Kristen, Josh and big brother Max, they have been wanting this for soooo long. Congrats you guys!

Alisa is also ready to welcome her first little angel! Alisa and my nephew TJ are going to be wonderful parents. They are expecting a sweet little girl and are naming her Ellie Nicale. This will be my baby sisters first grandchild and I am totally thrilled for her! She is going to be an AWESOME gramma!! Congrats TJ and Alisa!!

I'm sending lots of Love and Light to these special people in my life!

UPDATE
Kristen went to the hospital at 1:00. They tried to stop the labor but it just didn't work. My last update was at 6:30 and she was dilated to a 6 and was going to have those babies. I haven't heard anything yet. I hope everything is ok with momma and those sweet babies.
Please join me in sending love and light their way!

BIG UPDATE
Well Kristen delivered her twins!! Chloe Jean was born first at 11:30 5 lbs 3 oz 18 inches long and then Clayton Jeffrey (Clay) came breach at 11:35 5 lbs 5 oz 17 inches. WOW! Thats a pretty good size considering they were 6 weeks early. Their little lungs weren't quite ready and they were both placed in the NICU on ventilators last night. Little Chloe was taken off hers this morning and they expected to take Clay off this evening. I ran into the tired but totally thrilled gramma, grampa and Big Brother Max at Walmart this afternoon and got filled in.
Max seems so excited!. When he saw me he yelled "Hi Aunt Linda! The babies are here!!! I"M A BIG BROTHER NOW!! LOL Love that sweet boy. He's going to be a wonderful big brother!

Please take a moment

I have been following the case of Casey Anthony from the beginning. Three long years hoping there would be justice for Caylee. My heart aches when I think of her mother being acquitted for the death of her beautiful baby girl. Caylee didn't get the chance to live because her mother decided the party life was more important than her daughters life.

There is a petition for a new federal law that I have signed and am asking everyone to please look at it and consider signing it. We need to protect our little ones. Please help keep this from happening to other helpless babies.

God bless the little ones.
Rest in Peace Caylee Marie Anthony
May you fly with the angels!

Is change a good thing?

As you make your path through this thing called life, changes happen. Sometimes they are changes that you CHOOSE to make happen and sometimes they are changes that happen regardless of what you want. I have always thought that I was a "go with the flow" kind of gal that could take whatever life threw at me and make the best of it, but....hmmm as I get older the more I am beginning to think NOT!

I try my best and a lot of the time I end up coming out the other end unfazed and unruffled but, sometimes it feels like a little piece of my heart has been chipped away and it takes awhile to recover. I've been feeling that way for the past couple of months and so I haven't blogged much. I've made an attempt or two but when you're in a little bit of a dark place it is difficult. I'm feeling a little better with each passing day and I'm going to try getting back to doing the things I enjoy (blogging is one of those things)  I'm making it through the rough spot on my path and accepting the change I didn't choose for myself, and so I must ask... Is change a good thing? I still can't see the good in this change but, maybe one day I will understand it.
Only time will tell.

Hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!!
Be safe and enjoy your day!
LOVE and LIGHT sent out to you all!
