Life's Precious Moments.

Carson has always been a daddy's girl but, I don't think they have EVER shared a dance.
We went to the fair Saturday evening and were sitting listening to the music when one of Carson's favorite songs came on. She got up and took her daddy's hand and led him to the dance floor. I don't know why but, it touched my heart and brought a tear to my eye.

It was just one of life's precious moments.

Remembering my Father~in~Law

I want to take a moment to pay tribute to a wonderful man who flies with the angels.

Merle F. Barnhart (my father in law)
passed away August 13, 1980.
He is missed  so very much by those who loved him as well as some that never got the opportunity to meet him (me).

What can I say about a man I never got to meet yet love with all my heart? The words don't come easily for me and I find it difficult expressing my feelings about my father in law.  I've heard all the stories, looked at tons of pictures and have come up with my own picture of this man who was taken from his family entirely too soon!

When I close my eyes I can see him...I believe he would have been an incredible grandpa to my girls...I can picture his quick wit and joking personality....and, for some reason I can picture him sitting in a recliner letting all of his sweet granddaughters do his hair, paint his finger nails and toes...and maybe on occasion even a bit of make up.

You may be wondering why I would picture this....well, quite simply, The stories I have heard tell me his son (my hubs) is VERY much like him...and....well...he let his girls do those things when they were young...LOL

I am so grateful that I was given the gift of sharing my life with his son.

Rest in Peace my sweet father in law
We are thinking of you today and missing you just like we do every other day.

My Sweetheart

First of all I want to tell my sweet Barney
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!

It's hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that we have been married for 29 years! I'm sure I am NOT old enough for that to be possible!

When I look back at our life I see all the blessings that we have received. It hasn't always been easy, we have had a lot of struggles and heartbreak along the way but, those memories fade and are quickly replaced with the warmth of Love, the joy of togetherness and a house full of laughter.

I love you more than I ever thought possible and look forward to spending MANY more years together.

Sending you all my love sweetheart!!
Happy Anniversary!

Another Birthday ~ Another day without you

I was sitting on my porch the other day, watching my sweet grandsons play...my thoughts were drawn to you for some reason. I found myself wishing you were sitting there with me watching these 2 rambunctious boys with me. I was overcome with such a warm and calm feeling deep in my heart and I knew....You WERE there watching them with me! I couldn't help but smile.

OH Dad how I miss you today and every day! We will be celebrating your legacy later today. Family reunions have continued and I am soooo happy about that...and I'm sure you, mom and Jeanette will join us. It will be a celebration of your life. I can't wait to visit and reminisce about so many memories

I love and miss you with all my heart!
Happy Birthday Dad!!

A Very Special Day!

Today, my beautiful mom would be 82 years old…I wish she was here so I could celebrate with her!! I think about her all the time but there are a few dates throughout the year when she is right up front in my mind. Today is of course one of those days!

My moms favorite flowers were lilac's, she loved the smell. I remember as a young girl I always broke off a small branch from our lilac bush  to give to her for her birthday.
Here are your birthday lilac's mom

When God called you home, it was a difficult time for me, but I know heaven welcomed you with open arms. When you passed away, I grieved. On monumental anniversaries, such as birthdays, I grieve once again. On those special occasions, I reflect on the memories and mourn your passing. I envision you enjoying life in heaven with other loved ones.

On earth, we may release a balloon in your honor. We may open a photo album and gaze upon the memory of your face. I will always hold you close to my heart with the precious memories of the life we once shared. I miss you terribly and grieve for you with all who cherished you. I celebrate your life, even in death. On your birthday, when you should be here, allowing us to give you presents, I miss you even more.

~~~Tears~~~
If tears could build a stairway,
and memories were a lane,
I would walk right up to heaven
to bring you home again.
No farewell words were spoken
no time to say goodbye
you were gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why.
My heart still aches in sadness
and secret tears still flow,
what it meant to lose you,
no one will ever know.
