We went to our local Relay for Life last night. This is a fantastic event to attend. My family has been impacted by cancer in many ways and it's incredible to be a tiny part of all the good that this fund raiser does while celebrating the lives lost, the lives saved and those courageous people that are fighting for their lives now.
Even the drizzle of rain that would not stop didn't dampen the event. Hmmm, maybe that was just a few angel tears for those that have lost their battle or are still fighting.
I have a sister, father in law and grandfather that lost their battles, a sister that is in remission for a second time and a brother that has been battling this horrific disease for over 2 years now. The luminary ceremony is one of the most touching things I have ever been a part of. It touches that part of my heart that makes me all blubbery. When they start reading the names of those great souls that have had to fight for their lives it's very humbling and helps me put all my small troubles into perspective. I am so thankful for my many blessings and my wonderful family.
